Vevox's 2018 Highlights - July to December

Please note: On 21st March 2019, Meetoo became Vevox.

So much good stuff happened at Vevox HQ in 2018, if you haven't already, read part 1 of this blog or watch our 2018 highlights video.

July - Making clickers redundant

The summer months of 2018 were a hive of activity. While most Vevox users were on their summer holidays, the development teams in Finland and the UK were working hard on our biggest ever update to our Microsoft PowerPoint polling add-in. This update saw our word cloud polling feature become available in PowerPoint, pleasing lecturers and students across the globe. Some universities have been clinging on to clicker handsets as their student response system, but this PowerPoint update along with our other new features started an influx of institutions moving over to Vevox. If you'd like to find out more about moving to a software based student response system then read our guide From Clickers to the Cloud.

August - The Vevox team grows

Vevox relies on a team of knowledgeable and dedicated staff to keep everything running. We had our busiest summer to date which was the perfect time to welcome three new recruits to team Vevox. Neil joined us as our Business Development Manager and Gary took a seat in our fantastic customer success team. Joe expanded our education team and took the helm whilst Amie is on maternity leave and the two of them will be kept on their toes in 2019 as our education customer base continues to grow. After 5 months, all three of them are settled and well and truly part of the team as if they've been with us forever.

September - No more switching

Our 'Back to School' late summer update brought some great new functionality to our new interactive audience display. We've had amazing feedback about this feature which eliminates the need to switch between display screens for Q&A and live polling. Presentation view still has its BETA tag, BUT not for long...

October - Vevox Partner Network Launch

Behind the scenes, the team were busily constructing a new online portal and training academy as part of the Vevox Partner Network ahead of its launch in November. The aim of the Partner Network is to join up meeting and event organizers who are looking for extra support in implementing Vevox as their audience response system with suppliers who provide specialist AV and production support at larger events. Although Vevox is a self-service tool, the need for the Partner Network was becoming more obvious as event organizers running larger, high profile events were seeking out our advice as to who could help them on site. See our Partner Network page on the Vevox website.

November - More award nominations

For the past 3 years we have been fortunate enough to have been shortlisted at the Event Technology Awards. These awards highlight the continuing hard work and effort that is put in to developing event apps and platforms in an ever growing and more demanding space. The awards night was a great excuse to let our hair down in between two very hectic but successful days at the Event Tech Live trade show. Despite our best efforts we didn't win an award, but we didn't leave disappointed, how could we be when we have ambitious plans for 2019 to get on with!

December - Looking forward to 2019

So this brings us to the end of another year. We'll be taking a few days rest between Christmas and New Year but rest assured we're all raring to go and ready to really hustle in 2019.
